A man believed to be in his forties has been shot and killed on the M1 Higginson Highway in the Marianhill area, just outside Pinetown, on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services say when they arrived at the scene, they found the driver, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, with multiple gunshot wounds.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says, Paramedics from EMRS and ALS Paramedics arrived to find SAPS already in attendance with the area around a luxury vehicle cornered off. Paramedics assessed the man however there was nothing Paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene. The entire roadway was closed by Metro Police whilst investigations continued.
