Benjamin Sesko is on the verge of becoming a Manchester United player, with the Slovenian striker scheduled to undergo his medical today. The 22-year-old widely regarded as one of Europe's most exciting young forwards is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year deal.
Ruben Amorims side have been busy this summer in an attempt to strengthen their squad following a disastrous 2024/25 campaign. Roughly 120million has been spent on Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha and that figure looks set to rise further with the addition of Benjamin Sesko.
Softfootball understands that Sesko opted for a move to Old Trafford over Newcastle United with an agreement in principle reached on Thursday that will see the club pay up to 73.8million 85m for his services.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle , Sesko will undergo medical tests at Carrington today and assuming all goes well, he will be unveiled on Saturday at Old Trafford during Uniteds pre-season clash against Fiorentina. His tweet reads:
If the medical go well, United will then have plenty of time to register Sesko for their opening game of the 2025/26 Premier League season against Arsenal . The Gunners tried to sign him from Leipzig earlier in the window but instead opted for Gyokeres .
At just 22 years of age, Benjamin Sesko is still in the early stages of his career and, despite being world-class already, he has the potential to become even better.
