G-CAP NPC, a non-profit dedicated to youth empowerment through Hip Hop culture, has unveiled its new BeatBangaz DJ Academy campus at Tiny Warehouse in Woodstock.

The launch was marked by a free workshop on 5 July, where aspiring DJs braved stormy weather to celebrate the academy's next chapter. The event showcased the academy's mission: fostering talent, preserving DJ artistry, and building a vibrant creative community.

A new home for aspiring DJs

The relocation to Tiny Warehouse provides a permanent base for BeatBangaz DJ Academy, which has trained young South Africans for over a decade. The space will host structured courses, open workshops, and networking opportunities, blending classic techniques with modern technology.

DJ Azuhl, the academy's head, emphasized the importance of community. These open days are more than just workshops - they're about creating community, he said. Our goal is to preserve and elevate the DJ arts while providing a welcoming platform for both emerging talent and seasoned pros .

Despite heavy rains, the workshop drew a diverse crowd, enthusiastic newcomers, seasoned DJs, and Hip Hop supporters. Attendees experimented with mixing and scratching, while industry veterans like DJ Ready D, G-CAP's CEO, shared insights.
