The Black Business Council has called for harsher sanctions against corrupt individuals in the country. This is in reaction to serious allegations that suspended Independent Development Trust IDT Chief Executive Officer CEO, Tebogo Malaka sought to bribe journalist Pieter-Louis Myburgh on allegations of corruption.

The incident allegedly took place just days after Malakas suspension, which followed a PricewaterhouseCoopers PwC investigation.

The investigation revealed irregularities connected to IDTs R836 million oxygen plants scandal.

Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson will address the media on Thursday on the allegations.

The Black Business Council CEO, Kganki Matabane says the law must take its course.
