FC Barcelona have announced they will return to the revamped Camp Nou on August 10, hosting their traditional Joan Gamper Trophy match in a partially reopened stadium after extensive renovation works.
The Spanish champions confirmed in a statement on Wednesday, June 25, that the fixture will mark a symbolic homecoming, although construction is still ongoing in several parts of the stadium.
Work is continuing on the completion of the third tier, the dual VIP ring, the stadium's new roof, internal areas, and the surrounding infrastructure.
While the club has not disclosed the exact capacity for the match, local reports suggest that around 35,000 spectators will be accommodated in the usable stands.
"This is a symbolic and emotional step into the future, as Barcelona reclaims its home in a new era that will culminate with the full completion of the stadium," the club said.
