Avalanche Energy , a fusion startup out of Seattle, just landed 29 million in fresh funding to push its compact fusion tech forward. They shared the news on February 3, 2026, and honestly, its a big dealnot just for them, but for the whole fusion energy scene.
RA Capital Management led the round, and they brought in new players like 8090 Industries and Overlay Capital. Plus, their long-time backers, Congruent Ventures, Founders Fund, Lowercarbon Capital, and Toyota Ventures, are still on board.
Most of the money goes straight into growing Avalanches FusionWERX test facility in Richland, Washington. They kicked it off in April 2025, building it as a commercial-scale R D hub for fusion.
