Nigerian rapper, Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has said artists should not be defined solely based on streams and charts, stressing that numbers could easily be manipulated.
Blaqbonez, who has repeatedly claimed that bots were being used to manipulate streaming numbers and chart positions in Nigeria, stated this why replying to a fan who accused him for being a hypocrite for celebrating his diss song for Odumodublvck, ACL hitting number one on Apple Music Nigeria.
The rapper explained that he had never downgraded the importance of charts, emphasising that he only advocated for artists not to be assessed solely based on charts because they can easily be manipulated.
