The African National Congress ANC says its National Executive Committee NEC meeting has started to deliberate extensively on the 30 tariffs that the United States US has imposed on South African goods.
South Africa is among nearly 70 countries that are facing the US President Donald Trumps tariffs on exports.
The tariffs will come into effect in less than a week if a deal not reached during the current trade talks between SA and America.
The four-day ANC NEC meeting is under way in Johannesburg.
The NEC is looking extensively into the countrys economic woes, particularly with those tariffs imposed by the US.
