Africa Must Utilise Agriculture To Alleviate Hunger: Au Commissioner

African Union AU Commissioner for Agriculture, Moses Vilakati says the continent should utilise agriculture to alleviate hunger and ensure food security.
This comes as Africa scrambles for resources from within after the United States US cut off aid.
Vilakati spoke to SABC News on the sidelines of the launch of the Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Programme strategy and action plan in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni yesterday.
He says, "Where are the national banks because the money is just roving there. To what extent will they be involved in agriculture processes? What extent are pension funds being involved in agriculture because before they go and count the monies it must be eaten. It is about time the mind set changes to say let's put agriculture and the freight on what we do, if we do that, we will make this continent to be self-reliant."
