The Confederation of African Football CAF has confirmed that Jean-Jacques Ndala Ngambo of DR Congo will referee the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 final, placing one of the continents most experienced officials in charge of its biggest match.
Ndala has been entrusted with overseeing the showpiece encounter as millions of viewers across Africa and around the world turn their attention to the tournaments climax. His appointment is widely seen as a vote of confidence in his ability to manage pressure, maintain control and deliver consistency on a high-stakes occasion.
He will be supported by fellow Congolese officials Guylain Bongale Ngila and Gradel Mwanya Mbilizi as assistant referees, with Styven Moutsassi Moyo named as third assistant. Abongile Tom will serve as the fourth official.
CAF has also confirmed a full Video Assistant Referee VAR setup for the final, underlining the importance of accuracy in key decisions. Pierre Ghislain Atcho will act as VAR, assisted by Leticia Viana and Stphane lazar Yiembe.
