The Electoral Commission is holding a voter registration campaign in two municipalities on northern KwaZulu-Natal. This is in preparation for by-elections schedule to take place in Ward 22 in the Abaqulusi Municipality, as well as wards seven and 20 in the Nongoma Municipality.
On the 18th of March 2025, the wards became vacant after the resignation of councilors.
