A 20-year-old suspect, arrested in connection with the murder of African National Congress Councillor in Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, Sicelo Mleve , has briefly appeared in the New Brighton Magistrates Court in Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape.
Mleve was gunned down in his Ward 27 constituency office in Zwide during the voter registration weekend.
Police say the suspect, Lufunolwethu Nyodi , was arrested at his home in Kwazakhele on Thursday and face charges of murder, armed robbery and the unlawful possession of a firearm.
