Moroccan referee Jalal Jayed will take charge when the Super Eagles face the Democratic Republic of Congo in the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs on Sunday.
Jayed, DAILY POST recalled, officiated the Super Eagles' Matchday Five encounter against the Amavubi of Rwanda in March. Nigeria won the game, played at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, 2-0 courtesy of a Victor Osimhen brace.
The 38-year-old's compatriots, Mustapha Akarkad and Zakaria Bernissi, will serve as first and second assistant referees respectively.
