Senegalese football supporters accused of hooliganism in the AFCON final were arraigned in Rabat on Thursday, according to the defence lawyers.
The hearing before a Moroccan court was however adjourned to January 29 to allow both sides and the civil party to prepare.
A judicial source said the 18 Senegalese fans were placed in pretrial detention after incidents that disrupted the final, which Senegal won 1-0 in extra time in Rabat. The source also noted the arrest of an Algerian national connected to the case his lawyer, Jaouad Benaissi, identified the defendant as a French citizen of Algerian origin.
