Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Town or Regional planning
- Registered as a Professional Town and Regional Planner with SACPLAN.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Align town planning infrastructure modelling with the Departmental Service Plan to ensure strategic school placement
- Provide expert town planning data for Project Briefs and Infrastructure Delivery Management requests
- Contribute spatial planning inputs to the Procurement Strategy and Infrastructure Programme Management Plan (IPMP)
- Develop evidence-based ranking criteria to prioritize infrastructure backlog elimination in line with Local Government Integrated Development Plans (IDPs)
- Establish spatial norms and service level standards for education infrastructure
- Validate land suitability and availability, intervening where the Custodian (Public Works) obligations are unmet
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses on school utilization and land leases for the User Asset Management Plan (U-AMP)
- Interpret and customize functional and technical norms for the provincial schooling system.
