NQF level 6 or higher qualification in Urban and Regional Planning and/or equivalent qualification as recognized by SAQA.

Experience Required

3 years in Town and Regional Planning / Infrastructure Delivery

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in Town or Regional planning

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Align town planning infrastructure modelling with the Departmental Service Plan to ensure strategic school placement
  • Provide expert town planning data for Project Briefs and Infrastructure Delivery Management requests
  • Contribute spatial planning inputs to the Procurement Strategy and Infrastructure Programme Management Plan (IPMP)
  • Develop evidence-based ranking criteria to prioritize infrastructure backlog elimination in line with Local Government Integrated Development Plans (IDPs)
  • Establish spatial norms and service level standards for education infrastructure
  • Validate land suitability and availability, intervening where the Custodian (Public Works) obligations are unmet
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses on school utilization and land leases for the User Asset Management Plan (U-AMP)
  • Interpret and customize functional and technical norms for the provincial schooling system.
