Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) environment
- Registration with a relevant Professional Body (e.g., SACPCMP or SAIOSH)
- Valid Code B Driver's License
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Implement and oversee rigorous monitoring protocols and conduct detailed investigations for corrective actions
- Coordinate the establishment and functional maintenance of OHS structures, including health and safety committees and representative networks
- Provide specialized OHS training and awareness programs to departmental staff
- Offer strategic advice, guidance, and technical input for the development of OHS policies, strategies, and procedures
- Supervise subordinate staff and manage the day-to-day operations of the OHS unit
- Ensure compliance with building construction and construction regulations within departmental projects
- Conduct fire protection assessments and environmental impact monitoring
- Manage documentation and reporting in line with the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act (COIDA)
- Oversee hazardous substance control and disaster management protocols
