Frequently Asked Questions

While SCM covers both, this specific post is focused on 'Asset Management.' Your primary duties will involve tracking, issuing, and verifying physical items like furniture and IT equipment rather than just processing new purchase orders.
This is a critical technical task where you physically locate every piece of equipment owned by the department to ensure the barcode, condition, and room location match what is recorded in the central database.
You should demonstrate an understanding that government assets cannot simply be thrown away. You must identify items that are broken or redundant so the department can follow formal SCM disposal policies, such as auctioning or scrapping.
