Minimum Qualification

Master's Degree in Psychology and current registration with the HPCSA as a Psychologist

Experience Required

  • Grade 1: 0 Years
  • Grade 2: 5 Years in postgraduate

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Advanced knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Proficiency in research methodology with a record of scientific publications or presentations
  • Expert understanding of Mental Health Legislation and clinical psychology ethics
  • Experience in academic lecturing and clinical supervision
  • High level of computer literacy and administrative competence

Requirements

  • Grade 1: No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as a Psychologist
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as a Psychologist after registration with the HPCSA
  • Experience in providing psychological services at a tertiary Psychiatric Hospital is preferred

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide comprehensive clinical psychological services across various rotational units and provincial facilities
  • Facilitate the training and education of undergraduate and postgraduate medical and clinical psychology students
  • Manage and supervise academic research projects within the clinical psychology domain
  • Deliver compassionate and high-quality mental health interventions in accordance with the Free State Psychiatric model
  • Ensure strict compliance with Mental Health Legislation and departmental therapeutic manuals
