Diploma or Degree in General Nursing accredited with the SANC (R425 or equivalent)

General Nursing (Entry Level Grade 1)

• Solid understanding of the SANC Scope of Practice and nursing legislation
• Proficiency in the National Core Standards and Ideal Hospital Realization Framework
• Advanced interpersonal, problem-solving, and clinical decision-making skills
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities for clinical reporting
• Capacity to work effectively within diverse cultural and intellectual environments
• Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and the Patients' Rights Charter
• Basic resource management and organizational skills

• Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse (Current 2026 registration)
• Ability to function independently and prioritize clinical tasks

• Execute clinical nursing practices in strict accordance with the professional scope of practice and institutional nursing standards
• Promote and maintain high-quality patient care through adherence to established clinical protocols and professional ethics
• Facilitate the implementation of National Core Standards and the Ideal Hospital Realization Framework within the unit
• Provide clear and effective communication to patients, multi-disciplinary team members, and supervisors, including comprehensive clinical report writing
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to ensure a holistic approach to patient recovery and care
• Apply Batho Pele principles to advocate for patient needs and ensure a responsive, patient-centered healthcare environment
• Plan and organize daily nursing workflows, including the supervision of support personnel to ensure seamless service delivery
• Manage and safeguard allocated medical supplies and unit resources to prevent wastage and ensure availability
