Minimum Qualification

Engineering Degree (B Eng/BSc Eng) or relevant NQF 7/8 qualification

Experience Required

3 years in Professional Engineering and Project Management

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Compulsory Professional Registration with ECSA
  • Expertise in the Infrastructure Delivery Management System (IDMS)
  • Proficiency in technical design and analytical problem solving
  • Strong project and financial management skills
  • Knowledge of PFMA and Public Service Act
  • Technical report writing and presentation skills
  • Valid driver's license

Requirements

Minimum three (3) years post-qualification engineering experience

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Design new systems to solve engineering challenges and improve efficiency
  • Plan, design, and maintain provincial engineering projects
  • Develop cost-effective solutions and technical tender specifications
  • Evaluate and approve engineering works performed by consultants/contractors
  • Ensure adherence to ECSA norms, standards, and codes of practice
  • Mentor and supervise candidate engineers, technologists, and technicians
  • Manage unit budgets, procurement processes, and resource utilization
  • Conduct research into new technologies to improve departmental expertise
