Minimum Qualification

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist

Requirements

  • Grade 1: No experience required after SAPC registration (SA qualified) or 1 year (Foreign qualified)
  • Grade 2: 5 years experience after SAPC registration (SA qualified) or 6 years (Foreign qualified)
  • Grade 3: 13 years experience after SAPC registration (SA qualified) or 14 years (Foreign qualified)

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Deliver high-quality pharmaceutical care by monitoring work procedures and clinical service delivery
  • Execute relief duties across facilities to maintain pharmaceutical service continuity
  • Ensure compliance with the Provincial Medicine Code List and pharmaceutical regulations
  • Conduct clinical audits in medicine storage areas to ensure quality of care
  • Oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals within the sub-structure
  • Manage pharmaceutical expenditure through monitoring, evaluation, and trend analysis
  • Implement expenditure control strategies in line with financial prescripts
  • Collate and interpret pharmaceutical data for strategic reporting
  • Represent pharmaceutical services at relevant departmental and clinical meetings
