Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree (B.Pharm) and current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

Experience Required

Entry Level (Professional) in Pharmaceutical Services

Requirements

Grade 1: None after registration as a Pharmacist with the SAPC (excluding Community Service). Must be registered for 2026.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the selection and procurement of essential drugs and surgical consumables for the hospital
  • Promote and ensure the rational use of medicines within the clinical environment
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive hospital medicine formulary
  • Monitor and control expenditure on pharmaceutical and surgical items to ensure budget compliance
  • Perform rigorous stock control functions, including inventory management and security
  • Execute accurate reconciliation of pharmaceutical accounts
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide clinical training to Pharmacy Interns, Community Service Pharmacists, and Pharmacy Support Personnel.
