Minimum Qualification

B.Pharm Degree and registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist

Experience Required

Grade-dependent (0 to 13+ years) in Clinical Pharmacy and Stock Management

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the pharmaceutical supply chain including ordering, receipt, and clinical disposal of stock
  • Provide expert pharmaceutical care in alignment with SAPC guidelines and National Drug Policy
  • Oversee the financial and administrative management of the clinic pharmacy
  • Promote rational drug use and lead antibiotic stewardship initiatives
  • Prepare, compound, and dispense prescriptions with accurate labeling and patient counseling
  • Maintain rigorous control of Schedule 5 and 6 drug registers
  • Conduct clinical ward rounds and emergency trolley inspections across district clinics
  • Supervise Pharmacist Assistants and act as the Responsible Pharmacist for facility registration requirements
