Minimum Qualification

Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Pharmacist Assistant (Post Basic)

Experience Required

0-13 years in Institutional/District Pharmaceutical Services

  • Knowledge of medicine supply chain and cold chain management

Requirements

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide technical support to Pharmacists within the District
  • Procure, store, and distribute medical stock throughout the healthcare institution
  • Ensure effective stock control and inventory management
  • Deliver optimal pharmaceutical counseling to patients
  • Inform hospital staff regarding medicine costs and promote cost-effective usage
  • Provide pharmaceutical services to various hospital departments and Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities
  • Assist in the training and supervision of Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistants
  • Collect and collate pharmaceutical information for research and reporting purposes
