Requirements
- Minimum of 9 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing
- At least 5 years of the required experience must be in the Operating Theatre specialty after obtaining the relevant post-basic qualification.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate the delivery of optimal, holistic, and specialized nursing care within the theatre unit according to professional and legal frameworks
- Manage the effective utilization and supervision of human and material resources within the surgical environment
- Lead and coordinate clinical training programs and research initiatives within the specialized unit
- Provide strategic and operational support to the broader Nursing Services division
- Maintain professional ethical standards and oversee self-development and staff growth
- Ensure strict adherence to nursing statutes including the Nursing Act, Health Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Implement and monitor compliance with the Patient Rights Charter and Batho-Pele principles
- Manage labor relations and disciplinary procedures including grievance handling and performance management.
