Requirements
- Minimum of 9 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing
- At least 5 years of the required experience must be in the Obstetrics & Gynaecology specialty after obtaining the relevant 1-year post-basic qualification.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate the delivery of optimal, holistic, and specialized maternal and neonatal nursing care within legal and professional frameworks
- Manage and supervise the effective utilization of human and material resources within the OB/GYN unit
- Lead and coordinate clinical training and research initiatives to improve maternal health outcomes
- Provide operational support to nursing services to ensure alignment with departmental strategic goals
- Monitor and maintain professional ethical standards and facilitate continuous self-development and staff growth
- Ensure strict adherence to nursing statutes, the Health Act, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Implement and oversee compliance with the Patient Rights Charter and Batho-Pele principles in the ward
- Manage administrative HR functions including disciplinary codes, grievance procedures, and performance assessments.
