Minimum Qualification

Experience Required
9 years (5 years post-specialty) in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing
Required Competencies & Skills
- In-depth understanding of the Nursing Act, OHS Act, and Patients' Right Charter
- Strong leadership, supervisory, and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency in clinical planning, organizing, and operational management
- Expert knowledge of the District Health System (DHS)
- Ability to work under pressure and accommodate night duty requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
Requirements
- Minimum of nine (9) years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC
- At least five (5) years of this period must be appropriate experience in Primary Health Care (PHC) after obtaining the 1-year post-basic PHC qualification.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage and provide supervisory leadership for a PHC facility in accordance with PHC Supervision Guidelines
- Ensure clinical nursing practices align with the scope of practice and established nursing standards
- Implement and monitor National Core Norms and Standards, including the Six Priority Areas
- Oversee the delivery of the PHC service package to ensure high-quality patient care
- Manage human and financial resources at the facility level, including basic HR and financial practices
- Coordinate community involvement and participation in healthcare initiatives
- Advocate for patient rights through strict adherence to Batho Pele Principles
- Manage, monitor, and ensure the maintenance of facility assets and infrastructure
- Oversee facility information management, clinical documentation accuracy, and data reporting
- Ensure compliance with nursing legislation and ethical legal practices impacting service delivery.
