Requirements
- Minimum of 9 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC
- Minimum of 5 years appropriate/recognizable experience in the specialty after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in Advance Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate optimal and holistic specialized nursing care within professional and legal frameworks
- Manage the effective utilization and supervision of human and material resources within the unit
- Oversee clinical nursing practices to ensure alignment with the scope of practice and facility standards
- Lead the multidisciplinary team at unit level to maintain high-quality patient care
- Coordinate clinical training and research initiatives to enhance service delivery
- Implement and monitor compliance with nursing legislation, the Health Act, and the Patient Rights Charter
- Facilitate effective communication with patients, multidisciplinary health professionals, and junior colleagues
- Manage time and workloads for the unit to ensure uninterrupted nursing services
- Build and maintain professional networks to enhance departmental service delivery
- Uphold and advocate for Batho Pele principles to ensure patient-centered care and treatment.
