Requirements
- Grade 1: No experience required after registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Sub-Specialist in Paediatric Neonatology
- Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA in Paediatric Neonatology
- Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years appropriate experience as a Medical Specialist after registration with the HPCSA in Paediatric Neonatology.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services in Paediatric Neonatology
- Manage complex clinical cases and referrals requiring advanced sub-specialty knowledge
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement comprehensive neonatal treatment plans
- Conduct clinical ward rounds, outpatient consultations, and ensure evidence-based practice
- Facilitate academic teaching and clinical training for undergraduate and postgraduate medical students
- Supervise research activities, clinical training, and professional development of junior doctors
- Conduct and publish original clinical research and secure research funding
- Perform clinical audits including mortality and morbidity reviews to monitor clinical effectiveness
- Participate in departmental leadership, policy development, and hospital committee activities
- Represent the department at academic conferences and contribute to national clinical guidelines.

Remunaration
- Grade 1: R1341855 - R1422810 PER ANNUM.
- Grade 2: R1531032 - R1623609 PER ANNUM.
- Grade 3: R1773222 - R2212680 PER ANNUM ALL -INCLUSIVE PACKAGE CONSISTS OF 70% BASIC SALARY AND 30% FLEXIBLE PORTION THAT BE STRUCTURED IN TERMS OF THE APPLICABLE RULES, MEDICAL AID (OPTIONAL) EMPLOYEE MUST MEET THE PRESCRIBED REQUIREMENTS..
