Minimum Qualification

MBChB degree and MMed or FCP(SA) with HPCSA Sub-Specialist registration in Clinical Haematology

Experience Required

0-10 years post-registration in registrars

Requirements

  • Grade 1: No experience required after registration as a Sub-Specialist in Clinical Haematology
  • Grade 2: Minimum of 5 years appropriate experience after registration as a Sub-Specialist in Clinical Haematology
  • Grade 3: Minimum of 10 years appropriate experience after registration as a Sub-Specialist in Clinical Haematology

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for patients within the Clinical Haematology division
  • Plan and oversee specialized therapies including chemotherapy, apheresis, immunotherapy, and haematopoietic stem cell transplantation
  • Perform clinical procedures such as bone marrow aspiration/biopsy, lumbar punctures, and specialized line insertions
  • Deliver academic training, bedside teaching, and lectures for medical students, registrars, and sub-specialty fellows
  • Supervise and conduct original clinical research, including the marking of MMed and MPhil dissertations
  • Provide remote guidance and outreach services to peripheral healthcare facilities in Lesotho, Northern Cape, and Free State
  • Manage administrative duties within the unit and serve on relevant departmental committees

  • Grade 1: R1553670 - R1647630 PER ANNUM.
  • Grade 2: R1773222 - R1881330 PER ANNUM GRADE3: R1936806 - R2212680 PER ANNUM ALL -INCLUSIVE PACKAGE CONSISTS OF 70% BASIC SALARY AND 30% FLEXIBLE PORTION THAT BE STRUCTURED IN TERMS OF THE APPLICABLE RULES, MEDICAL AID (OPTIONAL) EMPLOYEE MUST MEET THE PRESCRIBED REQUIREMENTS..
