Minimum Qualification

Diploma or Degree in Nursing (R425) allowing registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse (2026)

Experience Required

10 years in Primary Health Care Management and General Nursing

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years appropriate nursing experience post-registration
  • At least 5 years of appropriate experience at management level within Primary Health Care (PHC)
  • Valid driver's license

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Serve as a strategic lead within the District Clinical Specialist Team to ensure quality healthcare delivery for maternal, neonatal, and child health
  • Champion equitable access to appropriate clinical care levels for mothers and children across the district
  • Drive clinical effectiveness by supporting outreach programs and implementing standard treatment guidelines aligned with national norms
  • Facilitate professional development, training, and clinical mentorship for health professionals across all district facilities
  • Collaborate with District Management to maintain surveillance systems, health information, and referral protocols
  • Lead clinical risk management activities including critical event analysis and morbidity/mortality reviews
  • Oversee the implementation of Maternal and Women's Health services, including BANC Plus and Contraceptive Planning
  • Develop and implement clinical record audit tools in compliance with Office of the Health Standards Compliance (OHSC) requirements
