Minimum Qualification

Senior Certificate (Grade 12) + 6 years' experience (3 as supervisor) OR Diploma/Degree (NQF 6/7) in Public Administration / Management

Experience Required

6 years (3 at supervisory level) in Institutional Laundry and Linen Management

Extensive laundry service experience; hospital environment experience is highly advantageous

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Implement and monitor Laundry Services guidelines
  • Supervise daily functioning of the Laundry unit
  • Compile and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Plan for and ensure the availability of heavy-duty laundry equipment
  • Maintain records of services and building maintenance
  • Procure linen and clothing for Mental Health Care Users (MHCUs)
  • Manage the allocated laundry budget and monitor losses
  • Execute the 'condemning' process for worn-out linen
  • Ensure compliance with OHS and Infection Control protocols
