Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Serve as the Accounting Officer for the Department in terms of the PFMA
  • Provide strategic leadership and high-level administrative direction
  • Oversee Agricultural Regulatory, Technical, and Development services
  • Manage Farmer Support and Integrated Rural Development Services
  • Provide technical oversight for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects
  • Ensure effective staff utilization, discipline, and sound labor relations
  • Maintain and manage state assets and department resources
  • Liaise and coordinate partnerships with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders
  • Implement all applicable laws and policies governing the department's mandate

Salary Detail

Remunaration

R1813182 per annum (Level 15), (all-inclusive remuneration package consists of a basic salary, the State's contribution to the Government Employee's Pension Fund and a flexible portion that may be structured i.r.o. the applicable rules) plus non-pensionable Head of Department's allowance equal to 10% of the all-inclusive remuneration package.
