Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Serve as the Accounting Officer responsible for the sound financial management and budgetary oversight of the Department
  • Provide high-level strategic support and advisory services to the MEC on provincial and national agricultural matters
  • Lead the formulation and implementation of sustainable development and empowerment strategies for the KZN province
  • Oversee the strategic management of Veterinary Services and integrated agricultural development programs
  • Establish and manage high-stakes strategic partnerships with local, provincial, and international stakeholders
  • Promote holistic Integrated Development Planning (IDP) and cooperative governance across the sector
  • Ensure the establishment of relevant boards, structures, and policies to realize the Department's vision
  • Drive integrated risk management and implement Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS) across the organization

Salary Detail

Remunaration

R2352642 per annum (Level 16) plus a 10% non-pensionable Head of Department allowance. The inclusive remuneration package includes a 30% portion which may be structured according to the individual's needs. (Inclusive remuneration package)
