Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Medical Specialist (Psychiatrist) post-registration
- At least 1 year of management and administration experience
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead the psychiatric clinical unit providing specialist assessment and evaluation of Mental Healthcare Users (MHCUs)
- Direct academic teaching and clinical training for Medical, Nursing, and Allied Health students
- Provide specialist outreach, guidance, and training to clinical and management staff within Area 2
- Develop and implement clinical guidelines, referral pathways, and protocols for MHCU management
- Oversee the efficient and economical use of human and financial resources within the unit
- Supervise and stimulate clinical research and ensure all relevant policies are operational
- Lead clinical audits and participate in hospital governance through various committees
- Develop specialized programs focused on psychosocial rehabilitation and dual-diagnosis management (substance abuse)
