Minimum Qualification

Undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) in Geographic Information System (GIS), Geomatics, Geo-Informatics, or Geography

Experience Required

0-26 Years (OSD Criteria) in Geographic Information Systems (GISc)

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in GIS software and spatial data modeling
  • Expertise in geo-database management and web-based GIS applications
  • Deep understanding of geomatics principles and SAGC standards
  • Project management and multi-stakeholder coordination skills

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide specialized GIS technical support and advisory services to provincial departments, municipalities, and external stakeholders
  • Lead the development, coordination, and execution of strategic GIS projects across the province
  • Oversee the architectural design, development, and ongoing maintenance of the Provincial Geo-database and integrated GIS website
  • Render professional mapping and spatial analysis services to support provincial decision-making
  • Ensure spatial data integrity and adherence to geomatics standards within the provincial administration
