Entry Level to 3 years in Public Sector Financial Support Services

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Knowledge of computerized Financial Management Systems (BAS/LOGIS)
  • Basic understanding of PFMA and Treasury Regulations
  • Ability to capture data and collate financial statistics
  • Insight into Public Service financial legislation
  • Proficiency in operating computers and ledger clearing

Requirements

Appropriate experience in Finance; a three-year Tertiary Qualification is an added advantage

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Compile and capture all financial transactions on the system
  • Clear suspense accounts to ensure ledger accuracy
  • Receive, verify, and check invoices for correctness and compliance
  • Reconcile facility expenditure against the approved budget
  • Capture and allocate budget virements and shifts
  • Support Electronic System processes and ensure compliance with prescripts
  • Assist with Interim and Annual Financial Statement (IFS/AFS) reporting
  • Support financial year-end closure tasks
  • Maintain a systematic filing system for all financial documentation
