5 years specialized driving/operating in Heavy Machinery and Specialized Fleet Operations
Required Competencies & Skills
- Expertise in operating heavy specialized equipment and interpreting service manuals
- Ability to detect mechanical defects and perform minor repairs
- Strong understanding of safety and precautionary measures in a technical environment
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills to complete logbooks
- Good eyesight and physical ability to perform manual checks
Requirements
- Minimum of Five (5) years' driving and operating specialized equipment experience
- Valid driver's license and Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Operate specialized machinery for the grading of gravel roads, re-gravelling, and shoulder maintenance
- Transport work teams, materials, and heavy equipment to various sites
- Conduct daily pre-trip inspections and perform basic mechanical repairs (oil, fuel, water, tyres)
- Maintain accurate vehicle logsheets and trip authorizations
- Ensure the safe loading/offloading of goods and the routine cleaning and lubrication of machinery
