Grade 12 plus a relevant NQF level 7 qualification in the Transport sector or Management/Administration

Experience Required

5 Years Senior Management in Transport Regulation and Management

  • Expert knowledge of the National Land Transport Act (Act 5 of 2009) and the White Paper on National Transport Policy
  • Strong understanding of public transport operations specific to the North West Province
  • Strategic capability, leadership, and change management skills
  • Proficiency in financial management and programme/project management
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Client orientation and high-level verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years' experience at middle or senior management level within a transport management environment

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the Transport Operator Licence and Permits directorate
  • Monitor and enforce compliance regarding operating licence conditions across the province
  • Manage and resolve public transport conflicts integrated within provincial and municipal transport plans
  • Oversee the establishment and operational efficiency of Provincial Regulatory Bodies in accordance with the National Land Transport Act
  • Ensure the provision of high-quality administrative support services to licensing processes and adjudicating committees
  • Manage the implementation of the National Transport Policy and relevant Land Transport Acts
  • Direct and guide personnel on the application of government policies, regulations, and strategic objectives
  • Oversee the directorate's financial management and service delivery innovation initiatives

Salary Detail

Remunaration

R1266741.per annum (level 13). The inclusive remuneration package consists of a basic salary, contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund, medical fund and a flexible portion in terms of applicable rules. The successful candidate must enter into a performance agreement and sign employee contract.
