Bachelor's Degree (NQF Level 7) in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering

5 years (Middle/Senior Management) in Engineering and Infrastructure Maintenance Management

• Deep knowledge of PFMA, DORA, Treasury Regulations, and CIDB Act/Regulations
• Expert understanding of Infrastructure Delivery Management Systems (IDMS)
• Strategic leadership and program/project management capabilities
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills in a built-environment context
• Proficiency in people management, empowerment, and change management
• Strong client orientation and communication skills within a healthcare setting.

• Minimum of five (5) years' experience at a middle or senior managerial level
• Professional registration as a Professional Engineer with ECSA (Engineering Council of South Africa) is mandatory.

• Provide strategic management of healthcare facility maintenance, including laundries, utilities, and technical support services
• Develop and oversee scheduled, preventive, and day-to-day maintenance plans for provincial health infrastructure
• Manage professional engineering research and promote effective utility utilization across facilities
• Oversee the provision of linen and laundry services, including inventory control and risk management of outsourced contracts
• Capacitate and manage Maintenance Hubs at Provincial, District, and Facility levels
• Ensure strict compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act regarding equipment safety and waste management
• Manage the Directorate's financial resources in compliance with the PFMA and lead procurement processes for engineering services
• Provide inputs on functional and technical norms and standards for healthcare infrastructure planning
• Lead human resource functions, including performance management, discipline, and workforce planning for engineering staff.
