Bachelor's Degree in Financial Management, Management Accounting, Auditing, or Corporate Governance (NQF Level 7)

5 years (Middle/Senior Management) in system development

• Deep knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations
• Expertise in developing internal control systems, assessment toolkits, and checklists
• Strong analytical and conceptual ability with a methodical approach to problem-solving
• High level of integrity, reliability, and diligence
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
• Ability to motivate teams and achieve clean audit outcomes (Auditor-General)
• Logical and results-driven leadership style.

• Minimum of five (5) years of appropriate experience at a middle or senior managerial level within an audit or internal control environment
• Extensive experience in conducting compliance audits and internal control inspections.

• Provide strategic leadership and management for the Audit and Internal Control component, including the development of operational plans
• Manage all audit-related matters from internal and external audits, including facilitation, reporting, and remedial activities
• Develop, implement, and monitor departmental strategies and policies to strengthen the internal control environment
• Act as the primary audit liaison for the Auditor-General, Provincial Treasury, and various oversight committees
• Oversee the level of audit preparedness across the Head Office and all KZN Department of Health institutions
• Conduct control self-assessments and compile accurate reports with recommendations for remedial action
• Analyze audit findings to develop and implement effective mitigation plans
• Ensure the efficient utilization of the component's financial, physical, and human resources
• Monitor compliance across multiple disciplines including SCM, HRM, Finance, and IT systems.
