Minimum Qualification

Diploma or Degree in General Nursing (R425) plus Post-basic qualifications in Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science

Experience Required

9 years in Nursing with Advanced Midwifery Management

  • Expert knowledge of MCWH, CARMMA, PMTCT, and ESMOE programs
  • Mastery of Advanced Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science
  • Advanced proficiency in health research methodologies (PPIP, MaMMAS)
  • Strategic planning and policy development capabilities
  • Strong financial management and budgetary control skills
  • Advanced clinical auditing and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) expertise
  • High-level communication, organizational, and project management skills

Requirements

  • Minimum of 9 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing post-registration
  • At least 4 years of experience at a management level within Advanced Midwifery
  • Valid driver's license

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate the Provincial Maternal and Neonatal Health program through strategic liaison with National Sub-Directorates and District sectors
  • Lead the development of provincial strategic plans, clinical policies, and specialized protocols for maternal health implementation
  • Provide expert technical support, professional advice, and clinical capacity building for healthcare personnel across the province
  • Oversee the implementation of national and provincial health norms and standards within district facilities
  • Execute financial management and budget oversight for the Maternal and Neonatal program
  • Conduct high-level research on maternal health issues including CARMA, ESMOE, MSSN, HBB, PPIP, and MaMMAS
  • Monitor and evaluate program impact to ensure continuous quality improvement in clinical outcomes
