Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree or NQF Level 6/7 National Diploma in Business Management, Business Administration, or Economics

Experience Required

3 years in Business Development

Required Competencies & Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of the B-BBEE Act, Codes of Good Practice, and National/Provincial industrial strategies
  • Advanced understanding of the Public Service Regulatory Framework including PFMA, PSA, and National Development Plan (NDP)
  • Expertise in project conceptualization, project financing, and contract management
  • Proficiency in policy formulation, strategic management, and change leadership
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills for diverse stakeholder interaction
  • Knowledge of KZN-specific economic environments at both provincial and district levels
  • Advanced research, analytical, and report-writing capabilities

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' junior management experience in Business Development and Project Management
  • Specific experience in empowerment of target groups (women, youth, or PWD)
  • Experience in formulation of Economic Development concepts
  • Valid Driver's License

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Facilitate and coordinate large-scale enterprise development, skills, and capacity-building programs specifically for women entrepreneurs
  • Lead women's economic empowerment initiatives and manage high-level stakeholder partnerships across the KwaZulu-Natal Province
  • Coordinate and facilitate support initiatives for victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to ensure economic reintegration
  • Develop, implement, and monitor provincial transformation policies, strategies, and frameworks
  • Conduct and analyze feasibility studies, sector studies, and SWOT analyses to inform Economic Development Plans
  • Manage the human and financial resources of the Sub-directorate while ensuring strict regulatory compliance
  • Interpret complex economic information and research methodologies to drive sustainable economic development strategies
