Required Competencies & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of the B-BBEE Act, Codes of Good Practice, and National/Provincial industrial strategies
- Advanced understanding of the Public Service Regulatory Framework including PFMA, PSA, and National Development Plan (NDP)
- Expertise in project conceptualization, project financing, and contract management
- Proficiency in policy formulation, strategic management, and change leadership
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills for diverse stakeholder interaction
- Knowledge of KZN-specific economic environments at both provincial and district levels
- Advanced research, analytical, and report-writing capabilities
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' junior management experience in Business Development and Project Management
- Specific experience in empowerment of target groups (women, youth, or PWD)
- Experience in formulation of Economic Development concepts
- Valid Driver's License
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Facilitate and coordinate large-scale enterprise development, skills, and capacity-building programs specifically for women entrepreneurs
- Lead women's economic empowerment initiatives and manage high-level stakeholder partnerships across the KwaZulu-Natal Province
- Coordinate and facilitate support initiatives for victims of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) to ensure economic reintegration
- Develop, implement, and monitor provincial transformation policies, strategies, and frameworks
- Conduct and analyze feasibility studies, sector studies, and SWOT analyses to inform Economic Development Plans
- Manage the human and financial resources of the Sub-directorate while ensuring strict regulatory compliance
- Interpret complex economic information and research methodologies to drive sustainable economic development strategies
