Minimum Qualification

Bachelor's Degree or NQF Level 6/7 National Diploma in Business Management, Business Administration, or Economics

Experience Required

3 years in project management

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Expert knowledge of legislation and strategies affecting Township and Rural Economic Development
  • Proficiency in Provincial Economic Transformation policies and Sustainable Economic Development strategies
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex economic information at a district level
  • Advanced project management, contract management, and budgeting skills
  • High-level research, negotiation, and networking abilities
  • Verbal and written proficiency in both English and isiZulu
  • Sound understanding of the Public Service Regulatory Framework (PFMA, PSA, PAIA, PAJA)

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' junior management experience in project management (conceptualization, stakeholder management, and finance)
  • Direct experience in development work within township and rural areas
  • Experience in formulating economic development concepts
  • Valid Driver's License

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead the provincial implementation and coordination of the Township and Rural Economies Revitalization (TRER) strategy
  • Facilitate access to high-value markets and financial resources for enterprises based in township and rural settings
  • Establish and manage strategic stakeholder partnerships to promote localization of economic opportunities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor provincial policies, frameworks, and plans specifically for TRER
  • Manage the human and financial resources of the Sub-directorate to ensure service delivery targets are met
  • Conduct feasibility studies and sector-specific research to identify localization opportunities
  • Provide technical support in business planning and project financing for rural-based projects
