5 years in Infrastructure Project Management and Civil/Mechanical Engineering

Requirements

Minimum of five (5) years' experience
At least three (3) years must be at Assistant Director level or equivalent within the infrastructure/engineering field
Professional registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Lead and coordinate all technical aspects of facility construction projects and lifecycle maintenance
Oversee project planning, implementation monitoring, and evaluation using standard project management methodologies
Formulate the Procurement Strategy and develop the Infrastructure Programme Management Plan (IPMP)
Monitor Implementing Agents (IA) to ensure strict adherence to Service Delivery Agreements and project timelines
Direct the implementation of infrastructure projects managed internally by the Department
Review and authorize the Infrastructure Programme Implementation Plan (IPIP) submitted by external agents
Evaluate departmental projects for funding eligibility and ensure compliance with built environment norms and legislative standards
Oversee project close-out procedures and finalize technical reports
Conduct research into emerging engineering technologies and geographical information management to enhance departmental infrastructure viability.
