Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide strategic oversight for agricultural development, agro-processing industry support, and integrated rural development
- Direct sustainable resource management and farmer support services across the province
- Lead agricultural research, technology development, and economic services
- Manage the establishment and commercial growth of agro-processing enterprises
- Oversee veterinary services including animal disease prevention, primary health care, and public health
- Direct infrastructure portfolio management including the design and maintenance of farm structures
- Coordinate professional built environment services and integrated rural development initiatives in Gauteng rural nodes
- Lead sector transformation initiatives and ensure discipline and performance management within the branch
- Manage the executive support budget, authorizing and monitoring all branch expenditure
- Oversee the compilation of high-level strategic reports and provincial agricultural statistics
