Minimum Qualification

NQF Level 6 or higher qualification in Quantity Surveying as recognized by SAQA.

Experience Required

5 years in Infrastructure Cost Planning and Quantity Surveying

Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience
  • At least three (3) years must be at Assistant Director level or equivalent within the Quantity Surveying/Construction field
  • Professional registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and maintain planning and cost norms and standards aligned with Provincial and National Education guidelines
  • Monitor Implementing Agents to ensure infrastructure projects comply with approved cost and planning standards
  • Update cost norms and standards based on post-project and post-occupancy evaluations
  • Review and validate cost determinations and project estimates submitted by stakeholders
  • Provide technical Quantity Surveying inputs for infrastructure policies, Project Briefing documents, and the User Asset Management Plan (UAMP)
  • Contribute to the development of the Infrastructure Programme Management Plan (IPMP) and departmental procurement strategies
  • Conduct research into new technologies and feasibility studies to optimize geographical information management and infrastructure viability.
