Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience
- At least three (3) years must be at Assistant Director level or equivalent within the Quantity Surveying/Construction field
- Professional registration with the South African Council for the Quantity Surveying Profession (SACQSP) is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Develop and maintain planning and cost norms and standards aligned with Provincial and National Education guidelines
- Monitor Implementing Agents to ensure infrastructure projects comply with approved cost and planning standards
- Update cost norms and standards based on post-project and post-occupancy evaluations
- Review and validate cost determinations and project estimates submitted by stakeholders
- Provide technical Quantity Surveying inputs for infrastructure policies, Project Briefing documents, and the User Asset Management Plan (UAMP)
- Contribute to the development of the Infrastructure Programme Management Plan (IPMP) and departmental procurement strategies
- Conduct research into new technologies and feasibility studies to optimize geographical information management and infrastructure viability.
