Minimum Qualification

Experience Required
5 Years (3 Years at Management Level) in Public Sector Financial Management and Accounting

- Advanced knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and National Treasury Regulations
- Proficiency in government financial systems (BAS/LOGIS)
- Strategic capability and financial leadership
- Expertise in audit coordination and financial reconciliation

- Analytical thinking and complex problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's license (except for PWD)
Requirements
- Minimum of five (05) years' experience in Financial Management
- Minimum of three (03) years' experience at an Assistant Director or Junior Management level
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee and manage expenditure control processes and the accurate capturing of all departmental payments
- Facilitate professional liaison and reporting to the Provincial Treasury, Internal Auditors, and the Office of the Auditor-General
- Conduct and oversee the rigorous reconciliation of all payment transactions within the department
- Exercise full management oversight of subordinates within the Accounts unit, including performance and development management
- Ensure departmental compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations
- Manage financial reporting and ensure the integrity of the accounting records
- Maintain internal control systems to prevent unauthorized, irregular, and fruitful and wasteful expenditure
