Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead and direct high-level research and policy development for the provincial human settlement sector
- Provide strategic guidance for integrated short- and long-term sustainable human settlements planning
- Oversee the development and implementation of infrastructure asset management plans for large-scale housing programmes
- Monitor and manage compliance for Beneficiary Administration and national housing subsidy programmes
- Provide strategic leadership for Informal Settlement Upgrading and the Rapid Land Release programme
- Ensure legal and operational compliance with Town and Regional Planning systems and property registration processes
- Manage the business unit's financial resources, human capital, and strategic performance targets
- Represent the department in intergovernmental planning forums to align with the National Spatial Development Perspective (NSDP)
