Minimum Qualification

National Diploma (T/N/S stream) in Electrical Engineering; or N3 and a passed Trade Test in Electrical Engineering; or Registration as an Engineering Technician (Electrical)

Experience Required

6 years appropriate experience in Electrical Infrastructure & Works Inspection

Required Competencies & Skills

  • Deep understanding of OHS Act, National Building Regulations, and SANS electrical standards
  • Knowledge of building and maintenance procurement and documentation
  • Proficiency in contract administration and project management
  • Ability to formulate policies in a multi-disciplinary professional environment
  • Advanced computer literacy in MS Office and financial management skills

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years appropriate experience in electrical works inspection or building maintenance
  • Valid Code B (or higher) driving licence

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage the identification of needs and requirements for minor new electrical works and repairs to existing educational facilities
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and control the implementation of maintenance and renovation projects
  • Compile comprehensive project documentation for new and existing electrical structures
  • Manage and oversee the activities of external contractors and consultants
  • Supervise subordinate performance and report on Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) data
